Description
• Sound attenuative angled elbow silencer with splitters for 90° bends in rectangular air duct systems.
• The products meet airtightness class C, provided that the installation requirements are met.
• Standard widths up to 3200 mm.
• Available in version with recessed duct connections: RCKV.
Product Selection
• Product selection is made using the product code based on sizing requirements; use the product datasheet (pdf) or the web-based SELECTOR sizing tool for product selection.
Product sizes – general (mm)
• Sound attenuator in standard version:
– External dimensions correspond to connection dimensions.
• Sound attenuator with recessed duct connection:
– Connection dimensions are max. 200 mm smaller than the width.
• Sound attenuator with inspection panels:
– The inspection panels are equipped with handles for easy access.
– The attenuator’s splitters/baffles run on U‑profiles.
– External dimensions correspond to the connection size, excl. handles.
• Angled/elbow sound attenuators are manufactured and specified in horizontal and vertical versions.
Dimensions – all versions (W x H = Width x Height)
• Standard version of the product is supplied in 100 mm increments in width and height, adjustable independently within the following range:
– Wmin x Hmin = 500 x 300 mm.
– Wmax x Hmax = 3200 x 2000 mm.
Length options – straight variants (L = Length)
• Standard version of the product is supplied in 50 mm increments within the following range:
– Lmin = 650 mm.
– Lmax = 2450 mm.
Length options – angled variants (L = Length)
• Standard version of the product is supplied in 50 mm increments within the following range:
– Lmin = 500 mm.
– Lmax = 2000 mm.
• Length L, is measured along the centerline
• The following relation applies for length L relative to the inner angle arms Z (inlet) and Y (outlet):
– Horizontal version: L = W + Z + Y
– Vertical version: L = H + Z + Y
• A minimum of 150 mm applies for Z and Y in standard version of the product.
Special versions
The product can be ordered in special versions:
• Flanged connection instead of slide rail connection.
• Internal and external epoxy coating.
• Stainless steel construction.
• Contact our sales if aluzinc-coated steel sheet is required.
• Outer casing, splitters (baffles) and guide rails made of unpainted galvanized steel sheet.
• Insulation made of washable, sound-absorbing, non-combustible mineral wool, surface-coated with perforated sheet metal.
• The product is designed for installation in rectangular ducts and is supplied with a slide rail connection.
• The product can also be supplied with a flanged connection (specified when ordering) and is then mounted to a mating flange using bolts and nuts.
• To meet airtightness class C requirements, the attenuator must be installed according to specific guidelines, usually the installation instructions provided by the duct system manufacturer.
• The product must not be mounted solely suspended at the connection points.
• During installation, suspension supports that wrap around the outer casing must be used.
• Provide a minimum straight duct length of 4 × ØD upstream of the attenuator to ensure the stated acoustic performance.
• See the operation and maintenance documents*) for more information on installing the product.
*1) Operation and maintenance instructions are provided in a separate document, ...DU-SE/...DV-DK – Operation and Maintenance (pdf), which can be downloaded from our product pages.
